Linkly Features: Analytics, Password-Protected Links & Expiring URLs

Every Linkly feature, on one page: true 302 redirects, click analytics, custom aliases, password-protected links, expiring URLs and QR codes — all included, all free, no account required to start.

True 302 redirects

Every short link resolves with a real server-side 302 redirect. Browsers, email clients, messaging apps and search engines all follow it the normal way — no JavaScript required, and your destination keeps its own search-engine identity. This is the difference between a shortener and a redirect service: the link works everywhere a URL works.

Click analytics

Each click is recorded with the time, the device type, browser, operating system and language, and a one-way hashed IP (raw request data is never stored). In the My Links dashboard, every one of your links shows its click count, so comparing channels is a glance: one link per channel, same destination, the numbers tell you which channel works. Custom aliases

Replace the random code with a readable one — shrtly.info/summer-menu instead of shrtly.info/x7k2p9. Aliases are 3–20 letters and numbers, and they are the difference between a link people can retell and one that is a mystery. Reserve your best slugs for destinations that will live for years.

Password-protected links

Gate any link behind a password. The check is server-side and happens before the redirect, so the destination is never exposed to anyone without the password — no client-side gate that can be bypassed by opening the page source. Useful for private onboarding docs, client deliverables, and anything you would otherwise host behind a login.

Expiring URLs

Set an end time on any link. After it passes, the link stops resolving, so campaigns, events and promotions end themselves. Combine with a custom alias for a link that was born with a schedule: shrtly.info/launch-week that simply stops existing when launch week is over.

QR codes on every link

Any short link becomes a QR code in one click, downloadable as a 512×512 PNG with no watermark — for menus, flyers, packaging, receipts and social profiles. Because the code encodes the short link, you can update the destination later without reprinting. QR code generator →

Projects, management and export

Organize links into projects, manage them from one dashboard (toggle, expiration, delete), and export data as CSV for reporting. Team accounts and roles keep shared workspaces orderly.

Features FAQ

Which features require an account?

None are blocked. Shortening, custom aliases, passwords, expirations and QR codes all work anonymously. A free account adds the My Links dashboard: per-link click counts and management (expiration, password, delete).

How do password-protected links work?

The destination is never revealed without the password: the server-side check happens before the redirect, so no client code or page content leaks the target. Visitors see a password prompt at /p/<code> and land on the destination only after entering it.

How do expiring links work?

Set a date and time when you create the link (or later, from your dashboard). After that moment the link stops resolving — it behaves as if it no longer exists — so a promotion or registration ends on schedule without anyone remembering to delete it.

Is there a limit on links or clicks?

No click cap on any link, and no paid tier to move into. See the pricing page for the full (one-line) answer.
