Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what data Linkly (shrtly.info) collects when you use our free link shortener, why we collect it, and the choices you have. For how we handle cookies specifically, see our Cookie Policy.
1. What We Collect
When you create a link
- The destination URL you shorten, and any custom alias, password, or expiration you set. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and are never shown again.
- If you create an account: your email address. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes only.
When someone clicks one of your links
- The click time, and the visitor's device type, browser, operating system, language, and user agent (truncated).
- The visitor's IP address is not stored. Each click record keeps only a one-way, salted hash of the IP (used to count unique visitors and rate-limit abuse). A hashed IP cannot be reversed to the original address.
- No other request data is kept: headers, cookies, and request bodies are never persisted to our click logs.
Service-level telemetry (only when enabled)
- Anonymous usage analytics (pages viewed, features used) via Google Analytics 4.
- Error and performance reports via Sentry, to help us fix bugs.
2. How We Use It
- To operate the Service: resolve your links, protect them, and expire them as you configure.
- To show you click analytics for your own links.
- To detect and prevent abuse (spam, malware distribution, brute force).
- To improve the Service and its reliability.
We do not use click data for advertising, and we do not sell or trade personal data to third parties.
3. Retention and Deletion
Click records are retained while your link exists, so your analytics remain accurate. When you delete a link, its click data is removed with it. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting support@shrtly.info.
4. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@shrtly.info.
5. Security
The Service is served over HTTPS, and we apply standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Changes
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
